When Audi's designers set to work on the new generation A4, high priorites included more interior space( an area that came in for criticism on the original car) and even better driver appeal. They suceeded on both counts, and this car is now a real rival to the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It has handsome looks, superb build quality, beautifully presented interiors and a wide choice of highly developed, powerful and efficient petrol and diesel engines.
A serious alternative to both the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Class; a feeling of real quality is complemented by a generous level of standard equipment on all models.
The previous generation A4 had an excellent reputation; with careful servicing, this A4 should run to very high mileages without fuss.
Handles much more dynamically than its predecessor, with excellent body control and improved traction; revised power assisted steering and modified suspension rates will keep drivers entertained
A serious alternative to both the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Class; a feeling of real quality is complemented by a generous level of standard equipment on all models.
Ride is a little dissapointing at low speeds, becomes smoother when driven faster; space for just two adult passengers in the back, but it is roomier than the previous model.
Driver, passenger and side airbags are standard on all models; strong bodyshell means it is certain to improve on the previous models two star Euro NCAP rating when it is crash-tested.
Alarm and immobiliser are standard; it might be worth beefing up protection, as faster models are likely to be tempting to thieves.
