Sell us your car or part exchange:

Put simply, Yes. We will appraise your car and give you a fair market price for it based on its condition, age and mileage coupled with up-to-the-minute auction data. We can then buy your car from you at this price with no obligation to purchase another car from us. To do this you will need to provide Photo ID (Driving Licence or Passport) and a proof of address dated within the last 3 months. These all need to be in the same name and address as shown on the vehicle V5c. If you are selling on behalf of someone else please refer to our full Sell Us Your Car terms and conditions for further details of what you will need to bring.

Other than that we require the following documentation;

  • V5c (registration certificate) - If the V5c logbook/registration certificate is still in the owner’s maiden name, you will need to bring a copy of your marriage certificate
  • All service history and MOT certificates if available
  • If the vehicle has any finance outstanding we will require a letter with the settlement figure from the finance company. This needs to have an expiry date of at least 7 days after your appointed drop off date
  • Any other document/keys/codes that are relevant to the vehicle. Especially if you have detailed them on the appraisal.
  • Proof of your bank account details for us to make any payments (copy of bank card or bank statement), again this needs to be in the same name as the V5c

However please note we may be able to give you a better deal if you decide to purchase a new car from us using your part exchange as part of the deal.

Our highly trained staff give your car a valuation. Obviously your car's condition and mileage are important factors in determining the price, but we'll take you through step-by-step our transparent pricing process.

We get a fair trade price using up-to-the-minute auctions data and prices from our partners and suppliers, with whom we trade over 30,000 vehicles every year. Our sales consultants also have hand held devices for this process in store, and will sit with you as they go through the process.

Yes by following a few simple steps on our www.carshop.co.uk website you can get a free valuation based on the current market value for your vehicle.

Our valuation is based on the details you provide us. We hold the details you enter when obtaining a valuation and will check that this information is accurate when we see your car. If your appraisal does not match our appraisal of the car on viewing, we may need to adjust the valuation.

We are a licensed credit broker and used to handling settlements on behalf of our customers. We will be happy to settle the outstanding finance as part of the transaction. You will have to obtain your settlement in writing on our behalf. The settlement letter will need 7 days remaining on it from the day you drop your vehicle with us. If you wish to settle the outstanding finance yourself, we will need written confirmation of full & final settlement from your finance company prior to us purchasing your car. Please note that it can take over 7 days to receive this after your finance company have received your payment.

If you owe more on your finance than the value of the car, we will still be happy to buy the car, but you will need to pay us the shortfall by debit card or bank transfer when we purchase your car, or if the car is being used as Part Exchange we might be able to arrange to refinance the shortfall.

We are unable to purchase any car without the original V5c document (log book). Also to prevent fraud we will only buy a car where it is registered in your name. If you do not have a V5c or need to register yourself as the vehicle’s keeper then contact either your Local Vehicle Licensing Office or the DVLA. It normally takes 3 to 4 weeks to obtain a new V5c. We will transfer the monies to your bank account within 5 working days, or alternatively we offer a faster payment service for £25 which dependent on the time of day could be in your account the same day or early the following day.

We have a no-haggling policy to offer the same low prices to everyone and believe all our customers should enjoy the same great prices, whether they are good at haggling or not. Bear in mind that we have a very high stock turnover so if your car is slightly above your budget, it's likely that a similar car will be arriving and it may well be cheaper! Keep in mind that the deposit is fully refundable, so if you have found a car you like, reserve it online to make sure that somebody else doesn't snap it up first.

All our cars have a 7-Day Exchange Policy. If you are not satisfied with your car, you can return it up to 7 days after pick up or delivery.

No. Payments by debit or credit card do not incur a fee, our preferred payment method is via bank transfer. Alternatively consider using one of our finance products to pay for your vehicle.

Yes. There's no charge for this service just pop down to your nearest Autosave with the car you require to be valued.

You can fund your car using the following methods:

    • Complete your finance application in 5 minutes and we will give you a decision within 48 hours, sometimes immediately. Select the term and deposit to generate the right custom quote for you.
  • Other payment options

    • You can make your payment to Autosave using the following payment methods. We charge fees for certain payment methods according to the associated costs. There are 4 free payment methods - Debit card, credit card, bankers draft and Bank transfers (BACS, CHAPS and Faster payments).Please see below for rates.

We can accept cash payments but unfortunately only up to £500.

About our cars:

Yes! If it is listed on autosave.co.uk, it is available. On very rare occasions, in spite of every effort we make to provide you with up to date information, it can unfortunately happen that a car gets reserved almost simultaneously by two different customers. If that is the case, we obviously refund the deposit to the last person who made the deposit.

We will accept vehicles with any mileage.

Every car listed on autosave.co.uk is HPI checked and has successfully passed a 114 point safety inspection. You will also benefit from our 3 month guarantee.

Some cars on the website are sold on behalf of fleets ( more information about this) and technically belong to them till the moment we sell the car. It's normal that they have finance on them when advertised, but from the moment you buy one, the finance on the car is cleared.

Most of our cars have a Full Service History, some have a partial history. At point of sale all vehicles will have at least 3 months or 3,000 miles until the next service is due, many vehicles will have just been serviced.

Yes. Cars have at least 3 months MOT. If they have less than 3 months at purchase date, we will give it a full 12 months prior to delivery.

The Road Tax in the UK depends on the CO2 emissions, which is indicated for all our cars in the "specifications" tab. Using this number, you can find out the corresponding tax rate on the DirectGov website.

Yes, this is one of the points in our 114 point inspection and we show clear images of the tyre treads on all listings. We ensure all tyres have a minimum of 3mm tread remaining. (The legal limit is 1.6mm)

We understand that these are increasingly important figures and have recently included them in the Specification tab of each car listing.

No. We can only pay money to the legal owner of the vehicle. If you are acting as an agent on behalf of the owner then we will only make payment to the legal owner's instructed bank account.

We try to be as transparent as possible in providing you with all the information you need to buy one of our cars. If we find a damaged area on the car when we inspect it, we repair it. Some minor imperfections that are commensurate with a car's age and mileage would be considered acceptable and will be clearly visible from the car photographs. Reserving a car:

If you have a credit or debit card, the best way is to reserve it online. As soon as you pay the £99 refundable deposit, the car will be reserved in your name for a maximum of seven days.

In most cases yes! 95% of our cars are ready to leave.

Most of our cars can be taxed either at the Post Office or at the DVLA. A very few of them, though, as part of a specific fleet, can only be taxed at the DVLA the first time around. Please keep this in mind when you come to collect your car and plan your trip accordingly.

Yes, you can place any vehicle on Hold for 5 Days and at the same time have it moved to any of our other stores. The cost to move a vehicle will depend on the distance between the where the car currently located and where you wish to move it to. For further information, please give us call!

autosave.co.uk is a low cost model offering the most competitive price possible to our customers. We do not fill our cars up with fuel as we would have to pass this cost on to you.

It is therefore likely that the tank will be relatively low and you will need to visit the local fuel station. Our handover team will happily direct you there upon request.

About car delivery:

Yes. Don't forget that you benefit from a 7-day Exchange Policy after delivery.

Please note that we only accept bank transfers for full payment on vehicles that are to be delivered.

Yes. We have had many Irish customers who come to our stores.

No, we only sell Right Hand Drive cars.

Sorry, but we can't do this. It's a major mechanical modification that we cannot do.

Not yet! We deliver cars only to mainland UK. But if you can collect the car in person and sort out the import papers, we can certainly sell you the car.
